**Near-polar orbits.** Most Earth-observing RS satellites use them. - The satellite travels basically **N–S** (at a near-constant longitude in inertial space). - Earth rotates **W–E** underneath. - Together, this lets the satellite **cover the entire surface** in one full repeat cycle.
